Memorial service for Dr. Steven C. Hebert
There will be a memorial service on Thursday, May 8, for Dr. Steven C. Hebert,
the chair and C.N.H. Long Professor of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, who
died on April 15.
The service will take place at 2 p.m. in Battell Chapel, corner of Elm and College
streets. A reception will follow at the Graduate Club, 155 Elm St. Those planning

A renowned nephrologist, Hebert made major contributions to the understanding
of how the kidney processes potassium, sodium and calcium. His work has led to
new treatments for kidney disorders, as well as for acute diarrheal disease.
