Race to benefit pediatric patients

The fifth annual Spring Sprint road race to benefit pediatric patients with respiratory ailments at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital will take place on Sunday, June 6, at the Connecticut Tennis Center on Yale Avenue.

The Spring Sprint includes a 5K run, a 5K fitness walk and a one-mile children's run. There will be cash prizes for runners in each age category.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the fitness walk starting at 8:45 a.m., the children's race at 9 a.m. and the 5K race at 9:30 a.m. The registration fee of $15 includes a T-shirt and refreshments. For more information, call 785-6935.


Art exhibit at CMHC

An art exhibit, titled "A Multi-Faceted Presentation," is currently on display at the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), 34 Park St. Featuring works by Debby Valentine, the show is open daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and will conclude on Thursday, June 24, with a reception at 3:30 p.m. There is no admittance fee and the public is invited.


Weight Watchers promotion

The Weight Watchers at Work summer promotion "Escape the Ordinary" sweepstakes will be featured this summer at all meetings held at Yale University Health Services (YUHS), 17 Hillhouse Ave.

Each week members of the weight-loss program will have the opportunity to win one of 250 prizes, including a grand prize of a 10-day cruise for two to Tahiti and the South Pacific.

The new 10-week series will begin on Monday, July 13. A free open meeting and registration will be held on Monday, June 28 at 12:15 p.m. in Rm. 514, YUHS. All meetings begin at 12:15 p.m. and will be held in Rm. 514.

The fee for the series is $94. A minimum of 20 members is necessary for this fee. Payment is due at the open meeting and can be made by cash, check or credit card. For more information, call 432-1892.

Summer Mass schedule

Saint Thomas More Catholic Center at Yale, 258 Park St., has announced its summer mass schedule.

Effective through Aug. 22, Sunday liturgy will take place at 10 a.m.; weekday liturgy will take place on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. The Sacrament of Penance will be available 6-7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month or by appointment. For more information, call 777-5537.
