Dr. William F. Collins is recognized for lifetime contributions to neurosurgery

Dr. William F. Collins, the Harvey and Kate Cushing Professor of Surgery Emeritus, was honored at the recent meeting of the Neurosurgical Society of America. On March 29, the society presented Collins its Distinguished Service Medal in recognition of his lifetime contributions to neurosurgery. Collins' achievements were previously acknowledged by the Society of Neurological Surgeons, which presented him its Distinguished Service Award in 1995. The American Association of Neurological Surgeons has also honored Collins with the highest award given by organized neurosurgeons, the Cushing Medal.
