Junior Helene Schutrumpf leads the women's basketball team in scoring with an average 9.3 points per game. In the latest match, Yale rallied for a 72-62 overtime win at Lafayette on Dec. 8.

The Bulldogs have their best record after 10 games since the 1991-92 team started 8-2.

Junior Ime Archibong (Greensboro, NC) is averaging 19.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in his last three games. He made all eight of his field goals and scored 19 of his team-high 22 points in the second half in the victory over Albany.

The 36-point margin of victory in the win over Long Island was the biggest for Yale against a Division I opponent since an 87-47 win over Harvard at Boston Arena on Mar. 12.

Freshman Morgan Richards (Seattle, WA) scored eight of her 10 points in overtime in Yale's win over Lafayette.

Sophomore Ryan Steeves (Rockland, ONT) scored twice in the win over Union.

Freshman Chris Higgins (Smithtown, NY) leads the team in scoring with 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists).


Women's Ice Hockey (4-6-1, 1-2-0 ECAC)

Last Week: Dec. 8 -- Quinnipiac 1, Yale 0; Dec. 9 -- New Hampshire 4, Yale 1

Next: Jan. 5 at Vermont, 2 p.m.; Jan. 6 at Dartmouth, 2 p.m.

Senior Katie Hirte (Cottage Grove, MN) made 25 saves against Quinnipiac.

Against New Hampshire, sophomore Nicolette Franck (Burlington, ONT) made 41 saves, and freshman Erin Duggan (Beaumont, ALB) scored Yale's goal.

Junior Steve Edell (New Vernon, NJ) was a double winner in the victory over Boston College. He captured the 100 backstroke in 52.53 and won the 200 backstroke in 1:52.20.


Women's Swimming (3-0, 1-0 Ivy)

Next: Jan. 4 at Army, 2 p.m.

The Bulldogs had three double winners in the victory over Boston College. Sophomore Paige Harazin (Scarsdale, NY) won the 50 and 100 freestyles, junior Susan Cooke (Vero Beach, FL) captured the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and junior Bates Gregory (Duxbury, MA) won the 1- and 3-meter diving.
