James Jones, head coach of the Yale men's basketball team, will host a free basketball clinic for young people ages 7 to 14 at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, in Farnam Neighborhood House, 162 Fillmore St., New Haven.
Several members of the Yale's men's basketball team will be on hand to help with the clinic.
"This is a great opportunity for New Haven's youth to come out and enjoy learning the fine points of the game of basketball," says Jones. "It's also a great opportunity for my kids on the basketball team to give back to the community."
Farnam Neighborhood House, located in the Fair Haven neighborhood, is a center for the entire community that focuses on nurturing young children, promoting positive youth development, and strengthening families and community through involvement. It's stated mission is to "play a leadership role in helping the community to be cohesive, successful and productive."
