Medical anthropologists to discuss their work

A conference titled "Anthropological Approaches to Health Research," the first of what organizers expect will become an annual event on campus, will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, in Rm. 119 of the Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St.

The speakers will be practicing medical anthropologists and faculty from a variety of anthropology departments and organizations throughout New England and Canada.

The diverse topics to be covered include cutting-edge research on HIV/AIDS, drug use, sex work, immigration and violence, youth and crime, suicide, ideologies of infant feeding, racial disparity, organ transplants, menopause and embryo disposal.
