Senior Marko Lujic scored three of the goals in the Bulldogs' 15-13 victory over Princeton, the defending national champions, on March 30.

Junior Dave Fortenbaugh (Rocky River, OH) hit a two-run home run in the victory over Vermont. It was his first homer of the season. Freshman Mike Elias (Alexandria, VA) pitched five innings to earn his first collegiate victory.

Lightweight Crew (1-0, 0-0 Ivy)

This Week: April 6-7 at San Diego Crew Classic

Yale captured the Joy Cup with the victories over MIT. The Bulldogs also won the second varsity, freshman and second freshman races.


Women's Crew (2-0, 2-0 Ivy)

Last Week: March 30 -- Yale 6:42.9; Columbia 6:55.1; Pennsylvania 6:59.5

This Week: April 6 vs. Cornell, 9 a.m., Gilder Boathouse

The Bulldogs won the Connell Cup with the victories over Pennsylvania and Columbia. Yale also won the second varsity, novice and varsity 4 races.


Men's Golf (0-0, 0-0 Ivy)

Last Week: March 31-April 1 -- 1st at George Washington Invit. (602)

This Week: April 6-7 -- Yale Invitational

Senior Chris Eckerle (Indianapolis, IN) was the individual winner at the George Washington Invitational. He had an eagle, birdie finish and shot 145.


Women's Golf (0-0, 0-0 Ivy)

Last Week: March 30-31 -- 4th at William & Mary Invitational (624)

Next: April 12-14 at James Madison Invitational

Senior Sarah Seo (Lima, OH) was Yale's medalist at the William & Mary Invitational. She had a two-round total of 151.


Gymnastics (2-2, 1-0 Ivy)

Men's Lacrosse (4-1, 2-1 Ivy)

Last Week: March 30 -- Yale 15, Princeton 13

This Week: April 3 vs. Brown, 7 p.m., Johnson Field; April 7 vs. Duke, 1 p.m., Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium

Junior Eric Wenzel (Garden City, NY) made 14 saves in the victory over Princeton, the defending national champions. Senior Marko Lujic (North Haven, CT) scored three goals and sophomore Scott Kenworthy (Glenwood, MD) added two goals and two assists.

The win over Princeton ended the Tigers' 37-game Ivy League winning streak.


Women's Lacrosse (6-1, 3-0 Ivy)

Last Week: March 27 -- Yale 11, Boston University 9; March 30 -- Yale 9, Harvard 8

This Week: April 3 vs. Fairfield, 3 p.m., Johnson Field; April 6 at Princeton, 2 p.m.

Freshman Katherine Sargent (Unionville, PA) scored three times against Harvard and twice against Boston University. Her two goals against BU came in the final 15 seconds of the first half.


Softball (12-9-1, 0-0 Ivy)

Last Week: March 27 -- Yale 2, St. John's 0, and Yale 1, St. John's 1

Sophomore Jillian Miles (Trabuco Canyon, CA) tossed a one-hit shutout in the victory over St. John's. Miles allowed a single on her third pitch of the game and then did not allow another hit the rest of the way. She struck out two.


Men's Swimming (14-1, 6-1 Ivy)

Last Week: March 28-30 at NCAA Championships

This Week: Season complete

Senior Mike Schulte (Wellesley, MA) competed in the NCAA Championships in the 500 and 1650 freestyles but did not reach the finals. In the 500, he swam a career-best time of 4:25.52, which placed him 28th in the preliminary round.


Men's Tennis (13-5, 0-0 Ivy)

Last Week: March 30 -- Yale 7, Navy 0

This Week: April 5 at Pennsylvania, 2 p.m.; April 6 at Princeton, noon

Freshman Ryan Murphy (Houston, TX) was a straight sets winner at the No. 1 position against Navy.

Junior Kate O'Neill (Milton, MA) won the 5,000 run with a time of 16:01.99 at the Raleigh Relays. Her twin sister Laura finished second in the 10,000 run with a time of 34:21.01.
