Nine of his books have been selections of the History Book Club and seven of the Book of the Month Club.
The event, sponsored by the Howard R. Lamar Center for the Study of Frontiers and Borders, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, located at the corner of Wall and High streets.
