Magazine names 59 Yale physicians 'top doctors'

New York Magazine has included 59 Yale physicians on a list of the top doctors in the metropolitan area for 2002.

Spanning a wide variety of specialties, from allergy and immunology to child neurology and geriatrics, the list serves as a guide for patients seeking the best in medical care. A cover article titled "The Doctor Dilemma" advises readers to shop around and to look for physicians who take the time to understand and care about their patients.

"We are delighted that this list includes so many of our physicians in almost every specialty," says Yale Medical Group Director Dr. David Leffell, professor of dermatology and surgery and chief of dermatological surgery at the School of Medicine.

To compile the list, New York Magazine collaborated with Castle Connolly Medical, a research and publishing company.
