Funding of up to $2,500 per academic year may be sought for purposes such as travel to inspect primary-source materials; acquisition of inaccessible books or microfilms, which would later be transferred to a University library; or assistance with research, indexing and manuscript preparation. The award is not intended for reimbursement of expenses already incurred.

Faculty members requesting amounts over $1,000 should also apply to other sources of support. The deadline to submit applications, along with supporting materials, is Feb. 1. Applications may be obtained at www.yale.edu/whc.

All materials should be sent to the Chair, Griswold Fund Committee, Whitney Humanities Center, 53 Wall St.
