The Long Wharf Theatre, 222 Sargent Drive, will present the world premiere of two short plays by Donald Margulies on April 2-May 11. The author teaches playwriting and screenwriting at the School of Drama. The double-bill, titled "Two Days," will feature "Last Tuesday" and "July 7, 1994." Ticket prices range from $15 to $47.50. President Richard C. Levin announced the appointment of Leo J. Hickey, professor of geology & geophysics as chair of the Department of Geology and Geophysics for a three-year term, beginning July 1.

Edmund S. Morgan, Sterling Professor Emeritus of History, was a finalist in the 2002 National Book Critics Circle Awards. His book, "Benjamin Franklin," was cited in the biography/autobiography section. The Circle is a volunteer organization of about 600 reviewers and review editors. The award is one of the three most prominent American book awards, along with the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
