Yale Entrepreneurial Society will co-host 'Innovation Summit'
The Yale Entrepreneurial Society and Net Impact will host the Innovation Summit and Y50K Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Law School, 127 Wall St.
Entrepreneurs and leaders from a variety of industries and business sectors will meet to speak about topics that are shaping business and society. Keynote speakers include Charles MacCormack, chief executive officer of Save the Children foundation; Seth Goldman, president and chief executive officer of Honest Tea; and Mark Rosenthal, president and chief operations officer of MTV Networks.
A panel of professional venture capitalists and industry leaders will select the winners of the Y50K Business Plan Competition. The panel will award $100,000 in cash and prizes to teams in for-profit and non-profit categories, which may be used to start up these new business ideas.
The panel of judges includes: Victor Budnick, president & executive director, Connecticut Innovations; Cary Davis, president and managing director, Warburg Pincus; James Nahirny, managing director of Bain Capital Ventures; Gina Raimondo, managing partner of Point Judith Capital Partners; Lawrence Wittenburg, a partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault; Jon Hirschoff, a partner at Finn Dixon & Herling LLP; and Terry Jones, a partner at Wiggin & Dana.

The cost of registration includes a luncheon with guest speakers and the judging panel, coffee and the closing reception. A non-profit organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship in the Yale community, the Yale Entrepreneurial Society (YES) was founded in 1999 by two undergraduate students looking for an outlet to express their entrepreneurial spirit. Today, with over 1,000 members, YES is Yale's largest student-run organization.
