College admissions workshop

The Organizational Development & Learning Center will offer a workshop on the college admissions process titled "College Admissions: How to Get Started on the Process."

The workshop will be held noon-1 p.m. on April 30 in the auditorium at the Peabody Museum of Natural History, 175 Whitney Ave. It will be led by Margit Dahl, director of Undergraduate Admissions at the University. Admission is free.

The workshop will help to provide parents with an understanding of what to expect during the admissions process. Issues to be addressed include the roles of the both the student and the parent in the process, how to create a list of prospective colleges, the campus visit, the interview and some aspects of the application itself.

The workshop is geared for parents of current high school juniors who will soon be embarking on the college admissions process. Parents of high school sophomores may also find the event of interest. The workshop is not a session on Yale's admissions procedures.
