Due to renovations this summer, some material held by the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts at the Yale Center for British Art will be unavailable from July 28 to Sept. 29. The Reference Library and the Study Room will remain open during the summer. Candidates in the Master of Fine Arts program in the graphic design department of the School of Art will exhibit their work in a thesis show through May 27 in Holcombe T. Green Jr. Gallery, 1156 Chapel St.

The International Center of New Haven is offering courses in English as a second language this summer.
Courses will include "English as a Second Language (ESL) Level I-III," "Pronunciation" and "Conversation." Tuition includes books and class materials. Registration must be done in person at the center's office at 442 Temple St.

The Yale Cancer Center will host a program for cancer survivors and their families in celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day on Thursday, May 29.
The event, titled "New Beginnings: Complementary Approaches to Living Well Today," will be held at the center, located at 333 Cedar St. The program will include a choice of three workshops, followed by a picnic lunch on Harkness Terrace at the School of Medicine. Registration will begin at 11 a.m.; the program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be hosted by Mel Goldstein, meteorologist on WTNH Channel 8 News. It is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. To reserve a place, call (203) 688-2000 or (888) 700-6543.
Information Technology Services has launched the Yale Software Library in an effort to provide a convenient source for software downloads, purchase information and special program announcements.
The library is available at www.yale.edu/software. The site offers links to a variety of information on licensing programs and features functionality that allows a
user to log in and view a catalog of available software titles based on their University affiliation.
In addition to providing downloads and installers for an array of software, the site offers detailed information on a variety of licensing programs and also has links to informational documents on purchasing software and obtaining support.

Ten Thousand Villages, a gift shop located at 1054 Chapel St. in New Haven that specializes in handicrafts from around the world, will hold a benefit for Asha for Education on Sunday, May 25, from noon to 6 p.m.
Asha for Education is a non-religious and apolitical nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of underprivileged children in India.
