The 2003 Yale World Fellows were welcomed at a recent barbecue at the Betts House, and gathered for this group photograph. Standing with them is Daniel Esty (second row, center), director of the World Fellows Program. The 18 individuals selected for this year's program are considered emerging global leaders. They will spend 15 weeks on the campus for intensive study of global issues, and will also have the opportunity to attend courses or undertake special projects of their own choosing. The World Fellows are among the more than 1,500 foreign scholars hosted by the University each year.
