YUWO lecture series

The Yale University Women's Organization will host the second lecture in its "Lunch and Learn" series next week.

Betty Trachtenberg, associate dean of Yale College and dean of student affairs, will speak on "Dean of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll" at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The event will take place in the Branford College master's house, 24 High St. It is free and open to the public. Attendees may bring a bag lunch; coffee and dessert will be provided. Gallery tours in Spanish

The Yale Art Gallery will offer Spanish language tours of masterpieces in the permanent collection at 4 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month through May.

Scholarly publishing forum

Faculty, students and researchers across the campus are invited to a forum titled "The Future of Scholarly Publishing" on Thursday, Feb. 10, 3-5 p.m.

The purpose of the forum is to discuss the future of research publishing and examine new scholarly publishing models. It will provide an opportunity to discuss the implications of these new publishing models with representatives from PubMed Central/NIH, the Public Library of Science, Yale faculty and the University library system.

The event will take place in the Harkness Auditorium, Sterling Hall of Medicine, 333 Cedar St. Light refreshments will be served in the auditorium foyer from 2:30 to 3 p.m.

The forum is sponsored by the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, the Kline Science Library and the library's Integrated Access Council.
