Basketball employee day

The Athletics Department will host a basketball "Employee Day" at the Payne Whitney Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 14.

The Bulldogs will take on their counterparts from Brown University. The women's tip-off will be at 4 p.m.; the men's game will begin at 7 p.m. Admission will be free for Yale employees and one guest. Employees must present a valid Yale I.D. on the night of the game.

YUWO lecture

The next lecture in the "Lunch and Learn" series sponsored by the Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) will be held at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the master's house, Berkeley College. The entrance to the house is off Rose Walk, across the sidwalk from Sterling Memorial Library, in Berkeley College North.

Judith Schiff, chief research archivist for University libraries, will speak on "Sterling Memorial Library's 75th Anniversary Celebration."

Career workshop

The Office for Women in Medicine at Yale will co-sponsor a career development workshop this month.

"Career Opportunities in the Pharmaceutical Industry; The Pfizer Visiting Professor Program: What It Is, How to Apply" will be held noon-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, in Brady Auditorium, Lauder Hall, 310 Cedar St. Panelists wil include Karen L. Houseknecht of Pfizer; Nita Maihle, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, pathology and pharmacology; and Agnès Vignery, associate professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation and cell biology. A question-and-answer period will follow the panel presentations.

Yale Cabaret spring season

Yale Cabaret has announced its spring season of 12 shows.

The season will include Jacobean drama, contemporary German voyeurism, musicals, a night of mime, two new plays, Greek mythology and shadow puppetry.

The first show, to be held Jan. 26-28, will be "Sleeping Beauty," by Elfriede Jelinek. The season will conclude April 27-29 with "George Bush Saved My Life Last Night" by Jennifer Tuckett.

All shows run for five performances: Thursday nights at 8:30 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday nights at 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. The cabaret is located at 217 Park St. Doors open at 7 p.m. for dinner and 10 p.m. for a light menu. Regular single tickets are $14 general admission; $10 for students. Food and drinks are priced separately. Memberships for the entire season are also available.

Child Conduct Clinic

The Yale Parenting Center and Child Conduct Clinic is currently offering a program to assist parents in developing effective ways of handling such issues as bathing, potty training, homework and sibling rivalry.
