Award-winning actor to visit campus
The Yale Center for British Art, the Yale School of Drama and the Yale Repertory Theatre will present "A Conversation with Liev Schreiber" on Monday, Sept. 11.
Hosted by James Bundy, dean of the School of Drama and artistic director of Yale Rep, the evening will also include readings from Shakespeare by the award-winning actor. The event will take place at 8 p.m. at the University Theatre, 222 York Street. Tickets are $35 (student tickets are $10) and can be ordered in advance online at http://www.yalerep.org and by phone at (203) 432-1234. The event is presented in conjunction with the "Searching for Shakespeare" exhibition on view at the Yale Center for British Art through September 17.
Schreiber received his training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and Yale School of Drama ('92 MFA). An accomplished Shakespearean actor, his most recent stage appearance was the title role in "Macbeth" earlier this year in New York's Shakespeare in the Park. Other performances in works by Shakespeare include the title roles in "Henry V" and "Hamlet," Iago in "Othello," Banquo in "Macbeth," Sebastian in "The Tempest" and both Jupiter and Iachimo in "Cymbeline" (for which he received the Obie Award). On film, he portrayed Laertes in a modern-day version of "Hamlet."
