Reviews for potential art majors
Reviews for sophomores who are interested in becoming art majors will be held
next month.
The reviews will be conducted 1-6 p.m on Tuesday, April 8, and 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
on Wednesday, April 9. They will be held in Rm. 210 at the School of Art, Green
Hall, 1156 Chapel St. Interested students should sign up in Rm. 122 of the School
of Art building, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Blair Dickinson Prize
The 24th Blair Dickinson Memorial Prize will be awarded by the School of Art
at this year’s Commencement ceremonies to an undergraduate or graduate
woman who has pursued studio art courses in the school, including graphic design,
drawing, painting, photography, filmmaking/video, printmaking or sculpture.
The prize of $24,000 is open to both art majors and non-majors.
Applicants must submit a one-page, double-spaced, 12-point typed statement of
not more than 500 words describing their goals, their work and the ideas it represents.
They should include no more than 10 images of their work on a Macintosh OS-formatted
CD and a hard-copy thumbnail inventory listing date, dimensions, medium and title,
if any. The images should relate to the statement as the statement will be read
aloud as they are shown. In addition to still images, if work is time-based,
a single Quick Time video no longer than two minutes in length may be included
in place of the 10th image.
Applications are due by April 28 and should be sent to the Blair Dickinson Memorial
Prize Committee, Yale University School of Art, Rm. 122, 1156 Chapel St., New
Haven, CT 06520-8339.
