Memorial service for R. Lansing Hicks
There will be a service celebrating the life of R. Lansing Hicks, professor emeritus
of Old Testament and former associate dean of academic affairs at the Yale Divinity
School (YDS), on Thursday, March 27.
The memorial service will take place at 5:30 p.m. in Marquand Chapel, Sterling
Divinity Quadrangle, 409 Prospect St.
Hicks, who died on Jan. 14 at age 86, joined the faculty of YDS in 1971, following
the affiliation between YDS and Berkeley Divinity School. He retired in 1990.
He was renowned at YDS both for his integrity and for his dedication to teaching.
