The School of Public Health will host a Diversity Day Program on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Winslow Auditorium, 60 College St.
The program will provide an opportunity to learn more about public health, speak with students, alumni and faculty, learn about the free SAT and GRE practice test, and gain a perspective of the School of Public Health.
Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. The program will commence at 9:30 a.m. Interested individuals should respond no later than Feb. 8 by calling (203) 785-2844 or sending e-mail to eph.admissions@yale.edu.
Lola Nash, a lecturer at the Child Study Center, will conduct a series of dialogues titled "Talking with Parents of Young Children (Ages Birth-5 Years)" in the McDougal Center, Rm. 119, Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St.
Each informal session will provide an opportunity to think about and discuss issues related to developmental growth, age appropriate expectations, day care, skills, play, social and cognitive development and emotional support.
Sessions will take place noon-1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Feb. 13, March 6, April 10 and May 15. The series is sponsored by the Office of the Provost, Yale Child Study Center, Office of Women in Medicine, McDougal Graduate Center and the Yale Early Childhood Education Program.

The School of Art will host a thesis exhibition this spring at Holcombe T. Green Jr. Hall, 1156 Chapel St.
The exhibition will feature work by students in the fields of painting, sculpture, photography and graphic design. Schedules will be as follows: Painting #1, through Feb. 10; Painting #2, Feb. 11-21; Mixed Group, Feb. 22-March 7; Sculpture, March 8-31; Painting #3, April 1-11; undergraduate senior projects, April 12-28; Photography, April 29-May 12; and Graphic Design, May 13-28.
Viewing hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Admittance is free.
The Lewis Walpole Library, located at 154 Main St. in Farmington, will host an open house 2-4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8.
Guided tours of the house and its collections will be conducted on the half-hour. Refreshments will be served. No registration is necessary. For more information, call (860) 677-2140.
The 6th Brazilian Spring Movie Festival at Yale, "Brazil: Carnivalizations," will be held this month.
The festival will be held on four successive Thursdays, beginning on Feb. 7. The movies, all with English subtitles, will be presented each evening at 7 p.m. in Rm. 211 of Linsly-Chittenden Hall, 63 High St. The theme of the festival derives from Carnival, the most popular and well-known Brazilian event, which this year will be held on Feb. 12.
The festival is sponsored by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, the Council of Latin American and Iberian Studies, and the undergraduate student club Brazil-Portugal.
The Greater New Haven Community Chorus is seeking members for a concert to take place on May 17 at Battell Chapel.
Titled "For the Beauty of the Earth," the event will be a joint concert with the Elm City Girls Choir. All voice parts are invited to participate. No audition will be required. Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 7:30-10 p.m., at 311 Temple St. Enrollment will be open through March. For more information, call Jill at (203) 624-1979.
