Committee to help search for new Yale Press director

President Richard C. Levin has appointed a search committee to help find a successor to John Ryden, who is retiring at the end of this year as director of the Yale University Press. (See related story.)

Anthony Kronman, dean of the Law School, will chair the committee, assisted by University Vice President and Secretary Linda K. Lorimer. Other committee members are faculty members David Bromwich, professor of English; Daniel Kevles, the Stanley Woodward Professor of History; and Sharon Oster, the Frederic D. Wolfe Professor of Economics and Management; as well as Yale Press board members Peter Workman, president of the Press' Board of Governors and chief executive officer of Workman Publishing Company; Jane Friedman, chief executive officer of Harper Collins; Will Schwalbe '84, executive editor at Hyperion Press; and Wendy Strothman, executive vice president of Houghton Mifflin.

The committee welcomes ideas and suggestions as they undertake their search.
