Collegium Musicum

General auditions for the Collegium Musicum, a chorus comprised of students, staff and faculty from throughout the University, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18. For further information and sign ups, visit the Department of Music, 143 Elm St., 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Yale Collegium Musicum will be featured in a new four-part concert series at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library. The series, "The Collegium Musicum at the Beinecke Library," will begin Sept. 11 with "Lamentations of Jeremiah." Other programs in the series will be "Alessandro Scarlatti in Manuscript" on Nov. 14, "A Berlioz Bicentennial" on March 6 and "The Mellon Chansonnier" on April 30. Peformances will begin at 5:15 p.m. and are free and open to the public.


Chamber Music Society

The Chamber Music Society at Yale will present eight concerts in its 2002-2003
season.

Six of the concerts will be performed by internationally renowned ensembles, including the Tokyo Quartet, featuring new first violinist Martin Beaver; the Endellion Quartet from Britain; and the Zehetmair Quartet from Germany. Two bonus concerts will feature Yale performers. All concerts will take place in Battell Chapel.

Subscriptions to the series range from $124 to $150; $62 for students. Single ticket prices are $24-$29 for the regular concerts and $12 for the bonus concerts. Specially-priced student tickets, including rush seats, are available. For more information, call (203) 432-4158.


Peabody activities

The Peabody Museum of Natural History will offer free admission throughout the day on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, the museum will host a student open house where those interested in volunteer and work opportunities will be able to meet with staff and receive tours of the facility.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, the museum will participate in New Haven's "Start with the Arts" festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. No admission fee will be charged throughout the day. Activities will include a puppet show, guided tours and a group painting project.

Walk to cure diabetes

The annual Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m. at Moore Field House at Southern Connecticut State University.
