As they did a year ago, hundreds of Yale community members gathered on Cross Campus on the evening of Sept. 11 for a candlelight ceremony. The event featured readings, music by Professor Willie Ruff (below right) and pianist Dwike Mitchell, and remarks by President Richard C. Levin. The President told the assembly that intolerance is "the enemy of wisdom" and called on each of them to "continue the search for light and truth."
