North East Conference on British Studies
The annual meeting will cover a wide range of scholarly panels in British studies. Panel topics will include the Restoration; gender issues; national history of the period 1650-1830; 'social narratives' of the 18th century; memory of World War I in the later 20th century; race and reform 1820-1840; art and aristocracy in the 18th century; race in 19th-century British literature; and changes in land use policies from the late 18th century to 1900.
