Alumni will gather to celebrate
150th anniversary of Yale Engineering

As part of the 150th anniversary of Yale Engineering, alumni of the program will gather on campus Friday-Sunday, Oct. 18-20, to discuss the future of the field.

Titled "Engineering the Future: A Sesquicentennial Symposium," the event is being hosted by the Faculty of Engineering.

The event will include panel discussions featuring distinguished Yale alumni, in-cluding noted leaders of industry, researchers and academics; plenary sessions led by Provost Alison Richard and Yale Engineering Dean Paul Fleury; and an open house.

The following panel discussions are open to the Yale community free of charge.


Saturday, Oct. 19

9 a.m. -- Concurrent sessions: "Engineering and Diverse Careers," Luce Hall, 34 Hillhouse Ave.; "Biotechnology," Rm. 201 William L. Harkness Hall, 100 Wall St.; and "Technology Transfer: Research to Product," Davies Auditorium, Becton Engineering and Applied Science Center, 15 Prospect St.

10:45 p.m. -- Concurrent sessions: "Information Technology," Luce Hall, 34 Hillhouse Ave.; "Energy and Environmental Technologies," Rm. 201, Harkness Hall; and "Paths to Entrepreneurial Success," Davies Auditorium, Becton Center.

4 p.m. -- Student Debate Finals on the topic "Energy Technologies, Security and Sustainability."


Sunday, Oct. 20

9 a.m. -- "Challenges to Engineering Education," Davies Auditorium, Becton Center.
