Coats needed for 'Surviving a New England Winter' program
As part of a multi-office program for international students on "Surviving a New England Winter," members of the Yale community are invited to donate gently used winter coats and apparel for students and scholars in need of such clothing.
The informative program for international students and scholars will take place on Thursday, Oct. 30. It will begin with a "Cold Clinic" offered by Yale University Health Services (YUHS) 4-6 p.m. in Rm. 211 of the Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St. Dr. Moshe Siev, a physician in the YUHS Pediatrics Department and assistant clinical professor of pediatrics, will talk about cold care prevention 4-5 p.m. The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) will provide a handout on "Tips for Surviving a New England Winter." Refreshments will be served.
From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the McDougal Center will make available donated winter coats and apparel for students and scholars who are in need of these items.
Members of the Yale community who wish to make a donation can do so before Wednesday, Oct. 29, at OISS, 246 Church St., Suite 201; or at the Undergraduate Admissions Office, 38 Hillhouse Ave. Any coats not distributed to a Yale affiliate through the program will be donated to a local shelter.
"Surviving a New England Winter" is cosponsored by the YUHS, OISS and the Graduate School's McDougal Center.
