The Summer Cabaret at Yale will celebrate its 25th anniversary season with four plays and two special events. The Cabaret is New Haven's only professional summer theater. The summer season runs June 23Aug. 14.

The four mainstage events follow.

June 23July 3 -- "The Sisterhood," an adaptation of Moliere's "Les Femmes Savantes," translated and adapted by Ranjit Bolt, is a farce about cultural elitism and the triumph of true love over snobbery.

July 717 -- "Maggie Cassidy," a new musical by Chris Jeffries, adapted from the memoir by Jack Kerouac. This elegy to lost youth is an East coast premiere.

July 2131 -- "The Turn of the Screw" by Jeffrey Hatcher, adapted from the novella by Henry James, is a retelling of James' famous "ghost story."

Aug. 414 -- "A Bob Called Hope" by Brian Robinson. This world-premiere of the Yale playwright's work examines the power of celebrity in American culture.

Special events are:

June 2426 -- Reno, a New York-based actress and performance artist known for her sharp-toothed, stream-of-consciousness comedy, will perform a one-woman show.

Aug. 57 -- Playwright and storyteller Glen Berger will perform his one-man show "The Wandering Jew."
