Women's Tennis Tournament

U.S. Open champion Lindsay Davenport, teenage sensation Venus Williams and the world's former top-ranked player StefÞ Graf are among the professionals who will compete in this year's Pilot Pen Tennis women's competition at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale University.

The competition, a USTA event, features a main draw of 29 of the world's top singles players and 16 top doubles teams. Graf is the defending singles champion.

Special events in conjunction with the competition include Kids' Day on Sunday, Aug. 22. At the event, children will be invited to participate in special clinics and autograph sessions with the professional tennis players. Children can also play in the Toys R Us Town interactive playground featuring Tennis Fast Serve, basketball freethrows, miniature golf and more, and can watch their favorite tennis stars play.

Tickets: General admission -- $4 for adults; $2 for senior citizens and children ages 6­12; free for children age 5 and under. Reserved seats -- $6. Group rates and special ticket/food packages available

Yale Field is the home stadium for the New Haven Ravens, the city's professional team and the minor-league afÞliate of the Seattle Mariners.

The team, which draws more than 280,000 fans each year, began its season in April. It will play some 40 games at Yale Field through Sept. 6. Games held Monday­Saturday begin at 7:05 p.m. Sunday games start at 2:05 p.m.
