Well-known authors will read from and discuss their works during the annual Summer Lecture Series, sponsored by Yale Summer Programs. The annual Sherlock Holmes Lecture celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Lectures are held on Thursday evenings. Those scheduled at press time follow; further information about the series will be available in future issues of the Yale Bulletin & Calendar.

June 28 -- This year's Sherlock Holmes Lecture, "Selecting the Right Ghost: The Goresthorpe Grange Mystery Solved After 123 Years!" will be given by Murray Biggs, associate professor (adjunct) of English and theater studies. The 1945 Þlm "Pursuit to Algiers" will also be shown. Dr. David Musto, professor of child psychiatry and of the history of medicine and psychiatry, will moderate the event.

July 19 --Puerto Rican poet and performance artist Victor Hernandez Cruz, whose latest work includes a collection of poems titled "Panoramas."

July 26 -- Kate Walbert, award-winning author of the novel "The Gardens of Kyoto" and a collection of short stories titled "Where She Went."
